Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins has this week been quoted saying that the band could be set to return to the festivals in 2012, assuming headline slots at T In The Park and Isle Of Wight festival’s go well.
Hawkins Told The Daily Star: “We may play Reading in the summer next year, if we get through all of this run OK. Festivals are where we cut our teeth and became a good band.”
A headline slot in 2012 would signal the end of a seven year wait for the band who, since their last appearance at the festival’s in 2005, have been regulars on the wish lists of many fan’s.
Strictly Our Opinion: If Foo Fighters headline Reading and Leeds in 2012, it’ll no doubt be a huge booking, however we can’t help but feel that a little gloss would be taken off by the fact that the festivals were beaten to the punch this year by both T In The Park and Isle Of Wight.
We also think this news should be taken with a pinch of salt, going by The Daily Star’s previous track record.
