Cage The Elephant
15:30, Friday, The John Peel Tent

Cage The Elephant are a band I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time to see if their ridiculously enthusiastic energy on record would be amplified at a live show, especially in a tent on the John Peel Stage.

CTE have a unique edginess that sets them apart from other Indie acts and I saw it in abundance at Glastonbury. The crowd were fired up for every catchy guitar driven track that vocalist Matt Shultz and the rest of his band delivered. The band’s energy was spilling over into crowd with Matt diving in for several crowd surfing session.

The only minor criticism I have is that maybe Matt should curb the enthusiasm into more of a controlled frenzy as he has a good voice, and he should use it more often. [3.5/5.0]
