Smashing Pumpkins Announce Intimate UK Tour
Alternative rock legends, former Reading and Leeds headliner, and conquerors of London’s O2 Arena, Smashing Pumpkins have announced a small scale tour of the UK this November.
Where to start with the Pumpkins? Well why not at Reading and Leeds festival? Despite airing to large chunks of materiel from their then hit and miss new album Zietgiest the Pumpkins still managed to wow and win over a skeptical crowd by merging classic hits “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” and “Cherub Rock” with punchy new efforts like “Tarantula”. Making The Pumpkins the only 2007 headliner not to disappoint and not to be totally outshone by their subheadliner.
The Pumpkins have a long history with Reading and Leeds festival, playing in both 1992 and 1995, and while we may never see them back again, they still occupy a special place in many festival fans hearts.
When the Pumpkins hit the UK in November they will be touring their newest album Teagarden by Kaleidoscope but if past experience is anything to go by, you can expect a mix of classics from across the band’s storied career.
