Lana Del Rey is dropping new tracks for fun lately, after months of playing it cool, she’s evidently letting it all hang loose, as the official studio version of “Off To The Races” follows the official music video “Born To Die” (below).

So what have we learnt? Well Lana sounds just as sexy on record as she does live, and “Off To The Races” mixes her typical fifties posturing with a kind of mid-2000s r’n'b inspired pop pacing, with fast skipping vocals. The track is a work of slick juxtaposition as she employs her most ditzy vocal in the track’s most brazenly pop moments. If her label were braver they’d have ditched the straight faced ballad “Born To Die” and made this vivacious bombshell of a track her second single.
