New Music: Dry The River – “The Chambers, The Valves”

Dry The River are expected to send the new folk gang back to the top of the charts in 2012. They certainly had the crowd on the FR Stage in the palm of their hand at Reading this year, and “The Chambers, The Valves” helps us to understand why.

Take the swelling bigness of Mumford & Sons and the layered artisan folk of Fleet Foxes, add some stirring strings and the pop pace of Emmy The Great and you have one hell of an addictive cocktail.

Are they as good as their obvious influences? Well that remains to be seen, but we’re pretty sure festival crowds will be jumping and singing the words “I could write this down, I could turn this around” all across the UK this summer.
