Australian Drum n Bass outfit, Pendulum, have announced they are to split. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Rob Squire, took to twitter to explain the decision. It is expected that his main focus would now be on Knife Party, whom he is currently touring with.
Squire posted on his twitter page, @rob_squire: “There will be no further Pendulum live shows. There are no current plans for a new album in 2013.”
He recently said on Australian Radio Station, Triple J, that he was having more “fun” with his side-project than with Pendulum. “We’re having too much fun with this project. It’s also great because Pendulum towards the end sort of felt like we were doing it because we had to and that’s never a fun way to do music. Whereas Knife Party is pretty much solely us doing what we want to and if no one likes it we don’t care.” He revealed.
Pendulum have released three studio albums in their ten year career, the last being 2010′s Immersion. They have become a regular fixture on festival circuit in recent years, playing the likes of Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, T in the Park and headlining Bestival in 2011.
