Coldplay are set to appear at the Paralympics Closing ceremony on September 9 at the Olympic Stadium. The event, being dubbed the “Festival of Flame”, will see the Chris Martin-fronted band at the top of the bill.
Martin revealed: “Being asked to play at the closing celebrations for the Paralympic athletes in London is such a great honour for us. Kim Gavin and Misty Buckley are working hard to put on a spectacular Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony for the athletes and spectators in the stadium, and everyone watching around the world, and we are so happy to be involved.”
Coldplay are set to undergo are UK stadium tour in the next few weeks, as part of their Mylo Xyloto world tour, playing at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry (May 29), Emirates Stadium, London (June 1, 2, 4), Stadium of Light, Sunderland (June 7) and the Etihad Stadium, Manchester (June 9, 10).
