Speaking to MTV this week Gerard Way suggested that he may retire the Killjoys personas, or at least give them an extended leave of absence, before they reappear in My Chemical Romance’s music videos.
“We’re not definitely sure yet if it’s going to go back to that world” Way said as he discussed the upcoming “Bulletproof Heart” music video, continuing: “I like a gap [in the narrative]; I think it should be a gap. And then I think that when you get that final part, when the right song comes along, I don’t know that it’ll make perfect sense. It’s not supposed to.”
Strictly Our Opinion: This is an interesting decision by Way, by creating these new personas and mini-movies My Chemical Romance have turned their music video premiere’s into events, getting away from that strategy may lead to reduced interest among casual fans. Either way, we can fully expected to see MCR in Killjoy garb come Reading and Leeds.
