Rumour has been rife today that New Order will be announced as Bestival’s first headliner at some point in the next few weeks. Last week Strictly broke the news that Sigor Ros and The xx would be making their live return at Bestival, and today, all signs point to New Order.
The legendary post-Joy Division outfit are without their iconic bassist Peter Hook but they still have their sensational back catalogue to draw upon. There is no word yet as to whether they will be a UK exclusive, but until this rumour entered circulation there had been speculation that New Order would headline Reading’s NME Stage.
Whatever the case, and wherever they land, New Order should wow fans with their array of game changing classics: “Blue Monday”, “Age Of Consent”, “Ceremony”, “True Faith”, “Bizarre Love Triangle”, “Temptation”…the list goes on and on.
