Reading festival threw their hat in the pre-Christmas headliner announcement ring when Zane Lowe confirmed on his Radio One show that Eminem would Reading and Leeds Festival 2013.
Festival fans were left disappointed by last month’s underwhelming headliner-free announcement, but he news that Eminem will headline the 2013 should buoy flagging spirits. Em will be making his 2nd Reading Performance and putting on his 2nd headline show as he joins NME Headliner Alt-J, The Deftones, Dance Arena Headliner Sub Focus, and Radio 1xtra headliner Boy Betta Know on the still developing bill.
Eminem’s 2001 headline show was hugely controversial with fans being crushed and injured in one of the festival’s most legendary crowd surges. Will the same passion be there in 2013? We’ll have to wait and see.
Whether you like the announcement or not, Mevlin Benn and Reading Festival can genuinely claim to have listened and responded to the fans demands, by delivering a satisfying pre-March announcement.
So who’s excited?
