Blur bassist Alex James let the cat out of the bag this week announcing that Blur will be receiving the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at the Brits in 2012. He went further saying: “We’re going to play, which is brilliant”, but alluded to just how difficult getting everyone to agree to play can be: “It’s like putting the Blues Brothers back together.”

James went on to talk about a tour and in particular US dates but he remained coy saying: ”Well, let’s hope. Heritage year next year!” adding “Who knows what will happen, but there is a lot to look forward to.”

Strictly Our Opinion: Well we can only hope. Reading still had a mystery headliner last time we checked, so who knows.
