The Subways certainly aren’t newcomers to Reading and Leeds, having played the festival numerous times in the past, but after an absence since 2008 they are returning. I for one, am very excited. With their riff driven Indie-Rock and ridiculously catchy choruses they are certain to give festival goers something to dance to, and if past experiences are anything to go, by they definitely wont let us down.
Their potential clash with main stage behemoths The Cure leaves me with a bit of a sour taste, but the decision to bill them on the FR Stage will guarantee a dedicated fan base, and the atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric. Besides, The Cure are bound to go on for ages so head along to catch (I’m already calling it.) a classic Reading set by a band, that for me, truly epitomise the festival. Lewis Lowe
