The Top 100 Reading Bands Of The 2000s No.96: Dillinger Escape Plan

96. Dillinger Escape Plan

21st Century Appearances: 2004 Concrete Jungle, 2002 Main Stage

The Defining Reading Moment: Greg Puciato, outraged about sharing a stage with Puddle Of Mudd and Hoobastank, shits on the Main Stage and turns to the audience saying: “I just wanted to show you this so you’ll recognize it later on throughout the day”.

Named after infamous US Jailbreaker John Dillinger, and one of the early pioneers of the Mathcore fusion genre, Dillinger Escape Plan are best known for their frenetic and aggressive stage performances. With a 13 year career, the Golden God Award winning progressive metal 5 piece have defied multiple band member injuries, departures and style shifts to secure tour support slots for heavy hitters such as Slipknot and Megadeth, and in 2011, the mighty Deftones. Not bad for an underground band with only 4 albums under their belt. Fox James
