21st Century Reading Appearances: 2011 NME Stage Headlinere, 2006 Dance Arena (Headlined as Soulwax), 2004 Dance Arena (NME Stage as Soulwax), 2003 Dance Arena Headliner,

The Defining Reading Moment: Donning tuxes and dropping both “Ace Of Spades” AND “Master of Puppets” during their absolutely sublime set at Reading this year, enticing even the trendy dance kids to get their rock on. Epic.

These beat loving Belgians need little introduction. But if you’re in need a little reminder, we are, of course, referring to David & Stephen Dewaele- aka the blokes behind the awesome Radio Soulwax. What is particularly refreshing about this dance act is that they will incorporate any genre of music into their work. Boundaries do not exist with these guys- they have mixed, mashed, spliced and diced with unashamed diversity. From Rock to Britpop, electronica to country – you’ll find it lurking within their eclectic compilations. The Soulwax Nite remix of The Gossip’s “Standing In The Way Of Control” would thrust Beth Ditto and co. into the musical spotlight and cement them as the alt/indie rock darlings of the moment. Hell, even chantreuse Dolly Parton’s classic hit “9-5″ has received the ‘DJ’s treatment. With an impressive five Reading appearances under their belts already, they are fast becoming a staple of the NME/Radio 1 stage lineup. And with stunning visuals to boot, they rarely fail to get the crowds jumping. If you need any further proof, just check out the video below.
