Bleeding Knees Club

 Hometown: Queensland, Australia

Bleeding Knees Club are Alex Wall on vocals and drums and Jordan Malane also on vocals as well as guitar, and they have created this huge hipsters garage punk sound. The vibe is so lo-fi it is impossible for the fidelity quality can go any lower. Bleeding Knees Club released debut EP Virginity in November 2011, featuring five confidently cool songs that, all in all, finish under eleven minutes.

”Teenagers Girls’ could be ”Lust For Life’‘ by Girls, for beyond summertime hipsters to shake their double acid denim and matted lipsticks to, with fly away hair. ‘‘Teenagers Girls’‘ sounds cheap, and the drums sound especially cheap. The harmonising melodic vocals sound cheap, you could probably hear the cheap plastic seat being moved if you listed closely. Remember the fun underage days of drinking and smoking with the hot opposite sex? You can relive those days with ”Teenagers Girls”.

”Bad Guys” is basically about the bad guys. The bad guys who do nothing all day, but come night fall, they put their drainpipes on and fall into the nearest party to smoke, get high, get drunk, have sex with the underage, and make girls cry. ”Have Fun’ is about having fun, so much fun, the fun hurts, because of all the fun. This is what music should be about, light hearted sentiments being mixed into grizzly guitars.

Dev Hynes of  Lightspeed Champion and Blood Orange fame has been accounted as producer for their debut album, Nothing To Do due out in March 2012, two years exactly after deciding to become a band. Having Dev on board can only make Bleeding Knees Club sound ever more punk fun than the demos already published. Simone F

Buzz: Surfy punk trash night-timer worshippers with cigarettes and alcohol being mostly on the gender. Bleeding Knees Club are just that, they may make music with no really depth, but that doesn’t that mean we can’t go and see them play the local house party? Fun, fun, fun.
