Zulu Winter

Hometown: London

Zulu Winter are a five-piece indie band from London, who the hype machine has dubbed the new The Vaccines for 2012, and like The Vaccines they will not allow the buzz to reach out and panic them (or perhaps that is their management talking?).

The group started out messing around with Nirvana covers when they were at school, only coming to realise after University that they had a ‘musical connection’, and by the end of 2010 Zulu Winter was born. Since then they have only done a handful of gigs preferring to write and record more than just one song at a time (too many gigs is totally bad for the IT kid buzz).

Debut single ‘Never Leave’/Lets Move Back To Front’ was the break-free blogger’s song. It saw the blogosphere go into hype overdrive. ‘Never Leave’ is layered with arty inter-space pop synths and seductive vocals from lead singer Will Daunt, and when he effortlessly and passionately whispers ‘’I will never leave you…’, you believe him. Simone F.

The Buzz: If you are looking to impress your mates with the latest cool radar bands, make sure the words Zulu Winter effortlessly drop from your mouth. A few months from now, Zulu Winter will be on everyone lips. You can be the one to say ‘’I told you so’’.

For fans of: Friendly Fires bashing into the ever tropical Wild Beasts.
